EFQM, formerly known as the European Foundation for Quality Management, has awarded ASSA ABLOY Sicherheitstechnik’s plant in Albstadt, Germany, its “Recognized for Excellence” award. This award represents the second of three award levels assigned by the global non-profit membership foundation based in Brussels, Belgium.
An independent team of EFQM assessors spent five days assessing the Albstadt plant and produced a comprehensive report. The team gave the plant a five-star rating, meaning that it qualified for the top category of the “Recognized for Excellence” award. With this award, the plant has demonstrated the levels of productivity and efficiency required to be highly competitive on an international level.
The report also identified areas where possible improvements could be made to further enhance competitiveness.
For the third level of EFQM’s recognition program, the Albstadt plant has applied for the renowned Ludwig-Erhard-Preis German excellence award, named for the former German minister of economy. “We want to know where we stand compared to the best organizations in Germany and how we can further improve,” explains plant manager Siegfried Weber.
ASSA ABLOY Sicherheitstechnik GmbH prioritizes sustainability and quality management, and its management is proud to receive recognition for this. “It is great to get an affirmation for our efforts,” says Siegfried.
For the 420 employees who work for ASSA ABLOY at the Albstadt plant, the award is an incentive to strive for further excellence.
